Alphabet Announces €5 Billion AI and Cloud Investment in Belgium
Alphabet's Google unveiled plans to invest €5 billion ($5.8 billion) in Belgian AI and cloud infrastructure, expanding its Saint-Ghislain data centers and creating 300 jobs. The move includes renewable energy partnerships with Eneco, Luminus, and Renner to power operations via onshore wind farms.
The tech giant will fund nonprofit-led AI training programs for low-skilled workers, positioning Belgium as a European innovation hub. This follows recent commitments: $10 billion in India, $4 billion for an Arkansas data center, and £5 billion in the UK.
